1.38

義門有二：一通，二別。通而為論，稟三皆悟則三皆正說。今就別而為言，故宜開三段。若具領通別意者理則無傷。

The approaches of meaning are two: first, general; second, specific. Discussed generally, if receiving all three leads to awakening, then all three are the main teaching. Now, speaking in terms of the specific, it is appropriate to open the three sections. If one fully grasps the intention of the general and specific, the principle will suffer no harm.
