六、前後門者，諸經多云「如是我聞」，以信是入佛法之初，故前標「如是」；欲證成信義，故次云「我聞」。如《溫室經》云「我聞如是」，此前標能信之人，然後始得於經生信也。

Sixth, the section on sequence: Most scriptures say 'Thus have I heard.' Because faith is the beginning of entering the Buddha's Dharma, 'thus' is marked first; wishing to confirm and establish the meaning of faith, it next says 'have I heard.' As the Sūtra on the Warm Room says 'I heard thus'—here, it first marks the person capable of having faith, and only thereafter can faith in the scripture be generated.
