如是名為信相，非信體也。以外發言稱此事如是，即表內心有誠信，故《論》云「如是者是信相也」。
'Thus' is called the characteristic of faith, not the substance of faith. Because uttering words externally to say that this matter is 'thus' expresses that the internal mind possesses sincere faith, the treatise says: '"Thus" is the characteristic of faith.'
