From "Due to some business, he traveled far to another country" onward: third, the parable of the previous Buddha passing away. Having received only a subtle transformation, [sentient beings] could not sustain his long residence, hence he departed for another region; as the Nirvāṇa [Sūtra] says, "Those who were to be saved have all been saved, and for the rest who are not yet saved, the causes and conditions for their attaining salvation have been established." "Due to some business" means that the responsiveness in this land was exhausted, while the conditions in another land arose; the Buddha's transforming other conditions is proximate to those conditions, while responsiveness in this land ceased, hence it is called "far." Furthermore, ceasing here and responding there is also why it is called "far."
