11.145

「得大勢當知」下，第三大段，嘆教勸修。又二：先歎、次勸。前歎教者，由法華力故常不輕得二種益：一者、畢其餘罪，謂滅惡力；二、得六根淨乃至成佛，謂生善力。所化四眾亦得二益：一者、由經力受苦輕微，二、得出地獄乃至不退菩提也。「是故諸菩薩」下，第二、勸修。

From "Mahāsthāmaprāpta, you should know" onward is the third major section, praising the teaching and encouraging cultivation. This also has two parts: first praising, next encouraging. In the former, praising the teaching: through the power of the Lotus Sūtra, Sadāparibhūta attained two kinds of benefit: first, exhausting his remaining sins, which refers to the power of eliminating evil; second, attaining purity of the six faculties up to the attainment of buddhahood, which refers to the power of generating good. The fourfold assembly whom he transformed also attained two benefits: first, through the power of the sūtra, the suffering they underwent was slight; second, emerging from hell up to reaching non-retrogression toward bodhi. From "Therefore, all bodhisattvas" onward is the second, encouraging cultivation.
