「又見諸佛般涅槃」者，第六、見般涅槃。般之云入，即入涅槃也。「又見諸佛般涅槃後」，第七、起塔。「爾時彌勒菩薩」下，第五、疑問序。所以疑問者，既覩奇特之瑞，知說非常之法，但未測所由，故生疑問也。

'And again saw the Buddhas enter parinirvāṇa' is the sixth: seeing the entering of parinirvāṇa. Pan means 'entering'—namely, entering nirvāṇa. 'And again saw, after the Buddhas entered parinirvāṇa' is the seventh: erecting stūpas. From 'At that time Maitreya Bodhisattva' onward is the fifth: the prologue of doubtful inquiry. The reason for the doubtful inquiry is that, having witnessed an extraordinary auspicious sign and knowing that an uncommon Dharma will be preached, yet not discerning its cause, doubtful questions therefore arise.
