上明難捨能捨，故捨居家；今明難持能持，威儀無闕。又出家為始、持戒為終。又上別據國王，今遍通一切。

The former explained being able to abandon what is difficult to abandon, hence renouncing household life; the present explains being able to uphold what is difficult to uphold, with deportments without defect. Furthermore, leaving household life is the beginning, and upholding precepts is the culmination. In addition, the former specifically relied on kings, while the present universally extends to everyone.
