上明如今所見是諸佛土，古見與今見既同，當知昔答與今答無異，故直標其人、略答辭也。又古人今人更無異人，即今答古答猶是一答，但標其人即答可知矣。今發問既是彌勒，將今例古，昔問應是德藏菩薩也。

Above it explains: 'just as now seen in these Buddha lands'; since ancient seeing and present seeing are identical, one should know that past answers and present answers do not differ. Therefore, it directly indicates the person and omits the words of the reply. Furthermore, past persons and present persons are no different persons; present answers and past answers are still one and the same answer; simply by indicating the person, the answer is already known. Since the one raising questions now is Maitreya, taking the present to analogize the past, the one asking in antiquity must have been Bodhisattva Guṇagarbha.
