「日月燈明佛」下，第二、明《法華》後事。就文為六：一、唱滅；二、授記；三、正滅；四、妙光弘宣；五、匠成八子；六、述彌勒本緣。所以唱滅者，欲明此經辨二實二權理已究竟，所應度者皆已度訖，故唱滅也。

From "The Buddha Sun Moon Lamp Brightness" below is the second part: clarifying the events following the Lotus. Looking at the text, there are six: first, proclaiming the extinction; second, conferring the prophecy; third, the actual extinction; fourth, Varaprabha's widespread propagation; fifth, training the eight sons to maturity; sixth, recounting the former circumstances of Maitreya. The reason he proclaimed extinction was that he wished to clarify that this sūtra had already brought the principles of the two real and two expedient to ultimate culmination, and all those who ought to be crossed over had already been crossed over; hence he proclaimed extinction.
