聲聞自保究竟，今欲斥之，是故告也。菩薩無有此患，故不告菩薩。
The śrāvakas preserve for themselves the idea of ultimate attainment; now wishing to rebuke them, he therefore addresses [Śāriputra]. Bodhisattvas are free of this fault, so he does not address the bodhisattvas.
