雖有一乘機，但三執既強、一乘機弱，要待聞諸方等經陶練其心，方堪聞《法華》也。

Although they possessed the capacity for the ekayāna, their attachment to the three [vehicles] was strong while their capacity for the ekayāna was weak; they had to wait to hear the various vaipulya sūtras to temper and cultivate their minds before they were fit to hear the Lotus [Sūtra].
