兩人未聞《法華》，自謂略同，若聞《法華》則五千凡夫不生信受，聖人則生信，故文云「若實得羅漢，若不信此法，無有是處也」。

Before the two persons have heard the Lotus [Sūtra], their claims of themselves are roughly similar; but when hearing the Lotus [Sūtra], the five thousand ordinary persons do not give rise to faith and acceptance, whereas the noble persons give rise to faith. Therefore the text says: 'If one has truly attained arhatship, if one does not believe this Dharma, there is no such possibility.'
