前長行明五濁但有一章，今偈轉勢說法遂有四門；此品法說有四，後品譬說明六，亦是轉勢說法。若言後說還同前者，三周之經是一周意，蓋是講經師大失也。至〈譬喻品〉當廣說之，

The preceding prose section explaining the five defilements contained only one section, but now the verses shift their momentum to expound the Dharma, thereby having four approaches. This chapter's doctrinal exposition has four, and the subsequent chapter's allegorical exposition explains six; this is likewise a shift in momentum to expound the Dharma. If one claims that the later exposition is still identical to the former, making the sūtra of the three cycles share the meaning of a single cycle, that would indeed be a grave error by the sūtra commentator! When we arrive at the 'Parable Chapter', it will be explained in detail.
