4.22

「鈍根樂小法」下一行半，明小乘果法。又前明九部謂人天教，今明二乘教。人天雖異不出九部，二乘雖異同求涅槃，故人天教中前舒人天機、次明九部教，今亦前敘二乘機、次明敘二乘教。

From "Those of dull faculties delight in lesser dharmas" downward is a line and a half, clarifying the fruit Dharma of the Hīnayāna. Furthermore, the earlier clarification of the nine divisions referred to the human and deva teachings, while this clarifies the two-vehicle teachings. Although humans and devas differ, they do not go beyond the nine divisions; although the two vehicles differ, they equally seek nirvāṇa. Therefore, in the human and deva teachings, first the capacity of humans and devas was unfolded, and next the ninefold teaching was clarified; here too, first the capacity of the two vehicles is recounted, and next the two-vehicle teaching is recounted.
