永仁甲午仲呂初三，為造板畢功，先妣得果也。爰沙彌道尊水叔孝未終十三忌景將滿，風樹悲幾許，千萬愁緒在誰。烏呼！擔劫石不磷之恩，遇浮木未朽之幸，仍刊《義疏》第四，盛流行無窮乃至有頂，阿鼻濟度無邊而已。

On the third day of the fourth month (Zhonglü) in the jiawu year of the Einin era (1294), the printing blocks were completed, so that my deceased mother might attain the fruit [of enlightenment]. Hereupon, the novice Dōson (Mizunosuke), before the filial mourning of the thirteenth anniversary of death was yet concluded, with the shadow of time nearing its end, how great was the sorrow of the wind in the trees! In whom do the thousands of myriad threads of grief reside? Alas! Bearing the debt of gratitude that is indelible as a kalpa-stone, and meeting the good fortune of an unrotted floating log, I accordingly carved the fourth [fascicle] of the Yishu, to circulate abundantly without end, up to the Peak of Existence and rescuing boundlessly down to the Avīci [Hell], and nothing more.
