身子是七眾依止、八部大師，師既於淨土作佛，眷屬悉願往生。但身子引物凡有三時，初、從外道引入佛法，二、從小乘引入大乘，三、從穢土引令趣淨土也。

Śāriputra is the refuge for the seven assemblies and the great master of the eight classes. Since the teacher becomes a Buddha in a pure land, all his retinue vow to be reborn there. However, Śāriputra's guiding of beings has altogether three periods: first, guiding them from non-Buddhist teachings into the Buddha's Dharma; second, guiding them from the Hīnayāna into the Mahāyāna; third, guiding them from the defiled land to proceed to a pure land.
