聞〈方便品〉已髣髴玄宗，覩今授記驗理必爾。授身子記意在於斯。
Upon hearing the Expedient Means Chapter they already had a glimpse of the profound principle, and beholding this conferment of prophecy verified that the principle must be so. The intent in conferring prophecy upon Śāriputra lay precisely in this.
