Speaking in terms of the parable, above there are strange birds and below there are poisonous insects, explaining that the house is terrifying and cannot be inhabited; therefore, the craving of the upper realms was explained first. The anger of the lower realm is extreme in its fault and peril, so craving was spoken of first, and next anger was spoken of. Now, wishing to extensively narrate that stinginess and greed are excessively heavy, they are explained later. Thus the Expedient Means Chapter states, "When the kalpa is turbid and chaotic, sentient beings' defilements are heavy, being stingy, greedy, and jealous." Now, for the sake of transforming people of the desire realm, the faults and perils of the desire realm are extensively displayed, so it is spoken of later.
