The thirty children are the people seeking escape, and the single door is the place of escaping the burning house. Now these six meanings all recount the faults and perils of the three realms, clarifying that sentient beings are submerged within them; therefore, they are not versified here. The single door and the thirty children are transposed to the subsequent parable of seeing the fire and the parable of failing to rescue the children to be jointly versified. Why is this? In matching the six parables, the Buddha broadly opened two headings: matching the comprehensive parable clarifies the meaning of the faults and perils of the three realms, while matching the subsequent five parables collectively clarifies the meaning of liberation; following their conceptual categories, these two were opened.
