第五、明信解位者，聲聞迴小入大，始得入菩薩十信之位，故前文云「汝舍利弗以信力故得入此經」，即其證也。又真諦三藏云：「十七地論文亦作此判」。又理數應爾，學小乘猶未信大，今破小執而信大者，則知始學十信也。

Fifth, regarding explaining the stages of belief and understanding: when śrāvakas turn from the small and enter the great, they first manage to enter the stage of the ten faiths of a bodhisattva; hence the previous text says: "You, Śāriputra, by the power of faith are able to enter this sūtra," which is its verification. Furthermore, Tripiṭaka Master Paramārtha said: "The text of the Treatise on the Seventeen Grounds also makes this determination." Moreover, the principle and numbers should naturally be so: when studying the Hīnayāna, one does not yet believe in the Mahāyāna; now that one breaks attachment to the small and believes in the great, one knows that one begins to study the ten faiths.
