7.52

彼經明身子之慧、目連之定、善吉空解、迦葉有行，以此四人為大聲聞。此經明身子利根獨拔眾人之外，非四大聲聞所攝，乃以善吉解空、旃延達有、迦葉頭陀、目連禪定也。

That sūtra explains Śāriputra's wisdom, Maudgalyāyana's concentration, Subhūti's understanding of emptiness, and Kāśyapa's practice of existence, taking these four persons as the great śrāvakas. This sūtra explains that Śāriputra, having sharp capacity, stood out alone beyond the rest of the assembly and was not included among the four great śrāvakas; rather, it takes Subhūti's understanding of emptiness, Kātyāyana's comprehension of existence, Kāśyapa's dhūtas, and Maudgalyāyana's dhyāna-concentration [as the four].
