"Gave rise to the thought that they had already crossed over, and gave rise to the thought of peace and stability" is the third phrase, realizing the fruit of nirvāṇa. Leaving the saṃsāra of the three realms is called giving rise to the thought that they had already crossed over; realizing nirvāṇa without remainder is giving rise to the thought of peace and stability. Furthermore, attaining nirvāṇa with remainder is the thought of having already crossed over; entering nirvāṇa without remainder is the thought of peace and stability. Again, attaining kṣayajñāna is the thought of having already crossed over; attaining anutpādajñāna is the thought of peace and stability. In reality it is not ultimate, yet they consider it ultimate; therefore it is called a "thought".
