8.56

「如彼大雲」下，第二、舉譬帖合。今初舉雲譬。「雨於一切」下，舉雨譬。「卉木叢林」下，舉草木譬。「如其種性」下，舉受潤譬。「各得生長」下，舉增長譬。皆帖合上也。

From “Just like that great cloud” downward is the second, adducing the parables to match [the meaning]. Here, first he adduces the parable of the cloud. From “raining upon all” downward, he adduces the parable of the rain. From “plants, trees, thickets, and forests” downward, he adduces the parable of the herbs and trees. From “according to their species and natures” downward, he adduces the parable of receiving moisture. From “each obtaining growth” downward, he adduces the parable of growing. All of these attach to and match the above.
