上句云佛知涅槃，今亦佛知眾生心不堪故不說涅槃，何故言昔不說種智？
The preceding phrase states that the Buddha knows nirvāṇa, and now also that the Buddha knows the minds of sentient beings are incapable [of it] and thus does not speak of nirvāṇa; why does it say that in the past he did not speak of the knowledge of all modes?
