From "At that time from the east" downward is the fourth, the Buddhas of the ten directions assemble, wishing to open the stūpa together. Regarding the text, there are two parts: first, a concluding account of the Buddhas assembling; next, the Buddhas wishing to open the stūpa together. From "At that time the Buddhas" downward is the second text. That Buddha so-and-so conveys his consent to open this stūpa clarifies that the Buddhas all together wish to open the jeweled stūpa, revealing Prabhūtaratna's body to show it to the great assembly and make them know that the dharmakāya is imperishable; it is not necessarily like granting consent in a sangha karman. Furthermore, fascicle twenty-one of the *Mahāsaṃnipāta Sūtra* says: "In the south, the Buddha Vajragarbha replied to that bodhisattva: 'In the north, Śākyamuni wishes to preach the Dharma for the great assembly; in order to crush great conceit, he sent an envoy to request consent from me, and I now grant it to him.' In the west and east, it was likewise." This resembles granting consent in monastic matters: although the Buddhas of the ten directions are each masters of their own transformation, when at one time they jointly perform a Buddha-work, it may also partly resemble the sangha; however, it is not constantly so, and therefore differs from monastic matters.
