親友共會本為怡神，不使昏醉；如來說教意在悟理，不使緣迷，但失旨故惑耳。
When close friends meet together, it is originally to gladden the spirit, not to cause intoxication and drunkenness; when the Tathāgata expounds the teaching, the intent is awakening to the principle, not to cause delusion through conditions. It is only because they missed the aim that they became confused.
