品開為二：一者、別授滿願記；二者、總授餘聲聞記。別授滿願記者，滿願有發迹、餘人無發迹，滿願無自能領解、餘人有自能領解，以部類不同故開二段也。

The chapter is opened into two parts: first, individually conferring the prophecy on Pūrṇa; second, collectively conferring the prophecy on the remaining śrāvakas. As for individually conferring the prophecy on Pūrṇa: Pūrṇa had a revelation of his origin, while the other persons had no revelation of origin; Pūrṇa did not personally articulate comprehension and understanding, while the other persons personally articulated comprehension and understanding; because their categories are different, two sections are opened.
