酒饍但有當時之益而無後時不失之義，繫珠但有後時不失而無交益之理，故舉兩譬以喻始終一解也。

The wine and food have only the benefit of the present time but lack the meaning of not being lost at a later time; the tying of the jewel has only the not being lost at a later time but lacks the principle of an immediate benefit. Therefore, two parables are presented to illustrate the single understanding from beginning to end.
