Now it is clarified that because this Dharma exhausts principle, there are omens of ultimate greatness. Speaking of what is great, they do not go beyond three kinds: heaven acts as its omen, earth acts as its omen, and the Buddha, as the lord of heaven and earth, further displays auspicious portents. Just as with the greatest of evils, heaven brings about its disasters, earth displays its calamities, and spirits manifest their anomalies. Furthermore, to signify that the buddhas of the three periods of time all preach the ekayāna and that sentient beings of the three capacities all return to non-duality, three omens are manifested.
