第三、亦立亦破者，因果等三雖出經文，非是正意，故須破之。所言立者，今一往對上三師所明，此經以非因非果中道為體，因果等為經大用。

Third, as for 'both establishing and refuting': although the three—cause, result, and so forth—appear in the text of the sūtra, they are not the primary intention, and therefore must be refuted. As for what is called 'establishing': now provisionally addressing what the above three masters clarified, this sūtra takes the middle way of neither-cause-nor-result as its essence, and cause, result, and so forth as the great function of the sūtra.
