三、轉不轉門者，一切佛經立名有二：一者、名字古今不轉，二者、隨佛出世名字改易。如《涅槃》云「或名法鏡或云名甘露鼓」等，今此《法花經》於二種中名字古今不轉，故大通智勝佛、威音王、二萬日月燈明，及釋迦佛所說，皆稱妙法蓮花。所以有轉不轉門者，蓋是隨宜不同，適時而說也。

Third, the section on changing and not changing: regarding the establishment of titles in all Buddhist sūtras, there are two kinds. First, titles do not change from past to present; second, titles are altered and changed according to the Buddha's appearing in the world. As the Nirvāṇasūtra says, "it is called the 'Mirror of the Dharma,' or it is called the 'Drum of Amṛta,'" and so forth. In this Lotus Sūtra, between these two kinds, the title does not change from past to present; therefore, what was preached by the Buddha Great Universal Wisdom Excellence, King of Imposing Sound, the twenty thousand Candrasūryapradīpas, and Śākyamuni Buddha are all called the "Saddharmapuṇḍarīka." The reason there is a section on changing and not changing is simply that adaptations differ according to what is suitable, being spoken in conformity with the time.
