涅槃教乃斥三修比丘，而復簡外道故，外道無有真諦及盜竊佛常，今明佛法為妙，豈不對外道非妙及五乘之麁耶？

The teaching of the Nirvāṇasūtra rebukes the monks of the three cultivations and further sets aside the non-Buddhists, because non-Buddhists lack ultimate truth and have stolen the Buddha's permanency. Now, in making clear that the Buddha-Dharma is sublime, how could it not be set against the non-sublimity of non-Buddhists and the coarseness of the five vehicles?
