若《波若》但明菩薩作佛、未明二乘作佛，則波若教劣；《法華》明菩薩作、佛復明二乘作佛，則法華為勝。何以得知然？《智度論》釋〈問乘品〉列十種大經，《法雲經》、《大雲經》、《法華經》，如是等經中而《波若》最大。既稱最大，則《法華》為劣。前後相違，云何會通？

If the Prajñā only elucidates bodhisattvas becoming buddhas and does not yet elucidate the two vehicles becoming buddhas, then the Prajñā teaching is inferior; the Lotus Sūtra elucidates bodhisattvas becoming buddhas and also elucidates the two vehicles becoming buddhas, then the Lotus Sūtra is superior. How is it known to be so? When the Dàzhìdù lùn explains the chapter on 'Inquiring into the Vehicle', it lists ten kinds of great sūtras: the Dharmamegha Sūtra, the Mahāmegha Sūtra, the Lotus Sūtra; among such sūtras, the Prajñā is the greatest. Since it is called the greatest, then the Lotus Sūtra is inferior. The earlier and later contradict each other; how can they be reconciled?
