贊曰：下世尊答。分三：初挍量為問，次彌勒答，後佛告成。初文復分三：初明能隨喜者，次明所挍量境，後「於汝意云何」下正以為問。初文有二：一明初首隨喜者，二指所挍量後隨喜者。初文有三：一明初者，次明往處，後明展轉。「巷陌」者，《玉篇》云「東西為陌」。陌，道也。

Commentary: Below is the Bhagavat's reply. It is divided into three parts: first, setting up the comparison as a question; second, Maitreya's answer; third, the Buddha declaring its completion. The first part is further divided into three: first, clarifying the person who rejoices in sympathy; second, clarifying the realm used for comparison; third, from “what do you think?” downward, officially posing the question. The first text has two parts: first, clarifying the first person who rejoices in sympathy; second, indicating the subsequent person who rejoices in sympathy who is being compared. The first text has three parts: first, clarifying the first person; next, clarifying the place to which he goes; and afterward, clarifying the successive transmission. As for “lanes and alleys” (xiang mo), the Yupian states: “East-west is called mo.” Mo means road.
