Eulogy: Sixth, joining into a canopy to form a curtain; seventh, the worlds merging into one. First they scatter flowers, and then they form a curtain. 'Scattering flowers' refers to hearing the Lotus Sūtra. 'Joining into a canopy' signifies that the three vehicles are initially distinct, but in the end merge into one, covering all the beings born in this realm. 'The worlds merging into one' signifies that the mind of wisdom is unobstructed, the pure lands are not distinct, and there is only the Single Vehicle and nothing else. The eight kinds of divine powers manifested above are explained in the Treatise only regarding three: the meanings of extending the tongue, snapping the fingers, and coughing. The remaining five are in other sūtras; since they are not preeminent, they are not explained. These three are rarely found in other sūtras, so they are explained based on their preeminence. Furthermore, because these three kinds are precisely used for the entrustment, they are explained specifically; the other powers are not primary [to entrustment], and so are not discussed.
