10.20

贊曰：下佛告成。有二：初成第五十，後成第一者。此初也。隨喜一念當得菩提，所化眾生倍於上數，故福為多。令得阿羅漢，不能成佛廣濟眾生，故福為劣。如挍量佛梵音聲相。

Commentary: Below, the Buddha declares the completion. There are two parts: first, establishing the fiftieth person; second, establishing the first person. This is the first. By rejoicing in sympathy for a single thought-moment, one will attain bodhi, and the living beings one transforms will be twice the number above; therefore the blessing is greater. Causing them to attain the status of an arhat cannot accomplish buddhahood or extensively rescue living beings; therefore that blessing is inferior. This is like the comparison of the marks of the Buddha's Brahmā voice.
