The Eulogy says: Second, superiority in analogies. In the text there are ten: first, superiority in being profound and vast; second, distinctive superiority in being lofty and prominent; third, superiority in thorough comprehension; fourth, superiority in eliminating delusion; fifth, superiority in majestic power; sixth, superiority in sovereign mastery; seventh, superiority in bringing forth; eighth, superiority in according with principle, or called superiority in dharmas and persons; ninth, superiority in both benefits; tenth, superiority in consummate virtue. In the superiority in according with principle, there are dharmas and persons. Calculating this, the passage on persons should have been spoken last, but it appears [here] for textual convenience. 'Srotāpanna' means 'stream-enterer', entering the stream of the noble ones. 'Sakṛdāgāmin' means 'once-returner'; with only one life coming and going in birth-and-death, one then attains the fruition of arhatship, hence called 'once-returner'. 'Anāgāmin' means 'non-returner'; karma of the desire realm being exhausted, one will certainly not return to be born in the desire realm, hence called 'non-returner'.
