The Commentary states: Third is the Buddha's admonition. It has four parts: first, a general admonition; second, recounting the inferiority of others; third, displaying one's own superiority; fourth, concluding the admonition. Here, he merely discusses his own superiority and the inferiority of others to serve as the admonition. As in the Viśeṣacinti-sūtra, where the bodhisattva Thinking-Brahma wished to come to the Sahā world, and Candrasūryaprabha Buddha told Viśeṣacinti: "You should wander through that land with ten dharmas. First, with regard to defamation and praise, the mind neither increases nor decreases; second, hearing good and hearing evil, the mind does not discriminate; third, with regard to the foolish and the wise, be equal with compassionate mind; fourth, toward high and low beings, the mind is always impartial; fifth, toward offerings and contempt, the mind is not twofold; sixth, toward others' deficiencies, do not see their faults; seventh, see the various vehicles as all being the Single Vehicle; eighth, hearing of the three evil destinies, also do not be terrified; ninth, toward the bodhisattvas, produce the thought of the Bhagavat; tenth, toward the Buddha appearing in the five turbidities, produce the thought of rarity." In the Vimalakīrtinirdeśa-sūtra, the admonition of Fragrant-Platform Buddha to Great-Might is of the same kind.
