贊曰：下讚持經者。有四：一順佛行，二離眾惡，三當得出世，四定厭生死。此初。有六：一為見佛，識理、智、化三種身故；二為親聞法，解教意故；三為供養佛，法供養故；四為佛讚，契佛本心佛隨喜故；五為佛手摩，佛教被心為授記故；六為佛衣覆，則為具足慚愧柔和忍辱等故。

Eulogy: Below is the praise of those who uphold the sūtra. There are four parts: first, conforming to the Buddha's practice; second, leaving all evils behind; third, bound to attain transcendence of the world; fourth, definitively weary of birth-and-death. This is the first. It has six aspects: first, seeing the Buddha, because one recognizes the three bodies—the principle, wisdom, and transformation bodies; second, personally hearing the Dharma, because one understands the intention of the teaching; third, making offerings to the Buddha, because it is an offering of Dharma; fourth, being praised by the Buddha, because one accords with the Buddha's original intent and the Buddha rejoices; fifth, being stroked on the head by the Buddha's hand, because the Buddha's teaching covers one's mind to confer prophecy; sixth, being covered by the Buddha's robe, which means being fully endowed with shame, conscience, gentleness, forbearance, and so forth.
