贊曰：此一頌半頌見四眾。因結於前，便明覩彼四眾修行得道相狀眾多。「見聞若斯」結前所見，「及千億事」明見四眾。今此經中宗明一乘，不能具列餘四眾行，故例眾多。「我今略說」，上明聲聞、下明菩薩，即乘差別。

The Commentary says: This verse and a half eulogises seeing the four assemblies. Summarising what preceded, it then explains seeing that the four assemblies' aspects of practice and attainment of the Way are manifold. "Seeing and hearing such things as these" summarises what was seen before; "as well as thousands of koṭis of matters" clarifies seeing the four assemblies. Now in this sūtra the principal theme is to clarify the Single Vehicle, and it cannot list in full the practices of the remaining four assemblies; therefore it treats them collectively as manifold. "I will now explain in brief": above it clarified the śrāvakas, and below it clarifies the bodhisattvas; these are the differences among the vehicles.
