二攝取善知識方便，以依善知識作所應作故。此攝三句，以依善知識者，供養無量百千諸佛，作所應作者，於諸佛所植眾德本，德本即善根，是所應作故，由此常為諸佛之所稱歎。

Second, the skillful means of integrating spiritual friends, because relying upon spiritual friends they perform what ought to be done. This subsumes three clauses. 'Relying upon spiritual friends' is 'offering to immeasurable hundreds of thousands of buddhas.' 'Performing what ought to be done' is 'planting roots of many virtues before the buddhas,' virtues' roots being wholesome roots, which are what ought to be done; therefore they are 'constantly praised by the buddhas.'
