贊曰：上來合是示相同今，此即第二唱滅異即。佛之入滅不同二乘，示現同之言入無餘，所應化了故尋唱滅。沙門息義以得法故，暫爾寧息，亦息惡也。正言室羅磨拏，或室摩那拏，此云功勞，謂修道有多功勞也。婆羅門，淨行義。

The commentary states: All of the above constitutes displaying marks matching the present; this is the second, proclaiming extinction with differences and identifications. The Buddha's entering extinction is not like that of the two vehicles; he manifested identical to them by saying he entered nirvāṇa without remainder. Because those he was to convert were finished, he immediately proclaimed his extinction. "Śramaṇa" has the sense of "resting," because of having attained the Dharma, resting temporarily; it also means halting evil. Properly speaking, it is śramaṇa or śramaṇana, which here means "toil and labor," referring to practicing the path with much toil and labor. "Brāhmaṇa" has the sense of "pure conduct."
