贊曰：第四現入涅槃。何故入滅，要於中夜？於生死夜證寂靜故，如《涅槃經》。
The commentary states: The fourth is manifesting entry into nirvāṇa. Why must he enter extinction in the middle of the night? It is because in the night of saṃsāra he realizes quiescence, as in the Mahāparinirvāṇa-sūtra.
