贊曰：上四十頌頌指陳別事，下三頌頌古今相即。有三：初一頌即人，次一頌即法，後一頌結成。此初也。

The Commentary says: The forty verses above versified indicating distinct matters; the three verses below versify the identity of the past and the present. There are three parts: the first verse is identity in person; the next verse is identity in Dharma; the last verse concludes and establishes it. This is the first.
