3.101

贊曰：此頌自疑，自先得智為是果法，為是因道？若是果者，所得已滿今何所讚？若是因者，更欲趣求因所成故。前說眾人於自所得生決定心於佛說疑，今者鶖子無決定義，於自所得亦生疑惑。又前剏聞，於自猶定，今重思慮，於自所得亦有疑生，故不相違。

The Commentary says: This versifies his own doubt: is the wisdom he himself previously attained a fruition-dharma, or is it a causal path? If it is a fruition, what was attained is already complete, so what is being praised now? If it is a cause, he still wishes to pursue what is accomplished by the cause. Previously it was said that the multitude formed a resolute mind regarding what they had attained and doubted the Buddha's words, whereas now Śāriputra has no resolute view and also gives rise to doubt regarding what he himself attained. Furthermore, earlier when first hearing it, he was still resolute regarding himself; now upon further reflection, doubt also arose regarding what he himself attained; thus there is no contradiction.
