放光動地未革庸心，演妙宣難便乖淺意，聞序中之問答為大漸之初，因聽宗內之深陳乃增迷而復謗，所以折摧枝葉扇拂糟糠。

Emitting light and shaking the earth did not reform their ordinary minds, while expounding the wonderful and proclaiming the difficult directly contradicted their shallow thoughts. Hearing the questions and answers in the introductory section was the beginning of the great gradual [instruction], yet when listening to the profound presentation within the main doctrine, they would increase their delusion and commit further slander; therefore, the branches and leaves snapped and broke, and the chaff was blown away.
