贊曰：此明世間皆如鶖子利根第一，盡情思共度量亦不能知。既不知佛智，故智慧門難解難入。「盡」音茲引反，任也窮也；或秦引反，本盡之盡。「思」音息字反，無息茲反，不爾便與度量無別。

The Eulogy states: This clarifies that even if the whole world were like Śāriputra, foremost in sharp faculties, exhausting their thoughts and jointly deliberating, they still could not know. Since they do not know the Buddha's wisdom, the gateway of wisdom is difficult to understand and difficult to enter. The character 盡 (*jin*) is pronounced *zi* + *yin* in fanqie, meaning to apply completely or exhaust; or it is pronounced *qin* + *yin*, meaning the exhaustion of basic depletion. The character 思 (*si*) is pronounced *xi* + *zi* in fanqie; it does not take *xi* + *zi* [with a departing tone], otherwise there would be no distinction from deliberation.
