贊曰：下三頌半勸發信心、顯今說實。中分二：初一頌半唯告鶖子顯今說實，後之二頌普告二乘顯初方便。此初也。汝既未證我之所說，於我所說當生信心。

The Eulogy states: The subsequent three and a half verses encourage the generation of faith and reveal that the real truth is now being spoken. This is divided into two parts: first, one and a half verses solely address Śāriputra to reveal that the real truth is now spoken; the subsequent two verses universally address the two vehicles to reveal the initial expedient means. This is the first. Since you have not yet realized what I have spoken, you should generate faith in what I say.
