贊曰：下有十頌頌示，有二：初八頌示初不同，後二頌示後還同。初中復三：一頌示不同意，六頌示不同相，一頌結不同。此初也。若教眾生盡以大乘，智者可爾；無智愚人錯學亂行，心迷不信，疑惑誹謗，便返增惡，不能領受，亦如覆㮎水於坳塘致㮎即膠故，由此返增愚人之咎，故不純以大乘教化。

The Eulogy says: The following ten verses versify demonstrating, having two parts: first, eight verses demonstrate that the beginning is different; next, two verses demonstrate that the end is again identical. The first part also has three: one verse demonstrates the intention behind being different; six verses demonstrate the characteristics of being different; one verse concludes the difference. This is the first. If one were to teach sentient beings entirely using the Great Vehicle, the wise could accept it; but foolish people without wisdom would study wrongly and act erratically, their minds confused and lacking faith, doubting and slandering, and would on the contrary increase in evil and be unable to accept it—just as pouring water from a jar into a sunken pit causes the jar to become stuck. Due to this, the fault of foolish people is on the contrary increased, which is why he does not transform them purely using the Great Vehicle.
