贊曰：此以歌唄供養，當得大士梵音聲故。梵云婆陟，此言讚歎，「唄匿」訛也。陳思登漁山聞巖岫誦經，清婉遒亮遠谷流響，遂擬其聲而製梵唄，故今俗中謂之漁梵，冥合西域三契七聲聞俱胝耳等所作也。

The Eulogy says: This is making offerings with singing and chanting, because one will attain the brahma-voice of a Mahāsattva. In Sanskrit it is called pāṭha, which means praise here; bèinì is an erroneous transliteration. When Cao Zhi climbed Mount Yu, he heard sūtra chanting from the crags and caverns, clear, melodious, vigorous, and resonant, echoing through the distant valleys; he thereupon imitated its sound to compose Buddhist chants (fanbai). Hence today among the common people it is called the 'Yu-style chant', which secretly accords with the Three Sections and Seven Melodies of the Western Regions, composed by hearing Koṭikarṇa and others.
